Hi Reader!
When Linda and I were younger, we'd spend hours in the sun during the summer.
πββοΈ Swimming.
π Playing.
β± Lying on the beach.
And we never wore sunscreen. π
Looking back, that probably wasn't our smartest decision.
But those days felt so carefree.
We'd come home with beautiful golden tans, rosy cheeks, and not a single thought about wrinkles or brown spots.
The sun just felt... good.
Like it was giving us something we needed.
π The Sun Changed As We Got Older
Somewhere along the way, things changed.
β We started burning more easily.
β Brown spots appeared if we weren't careful.
β A beach hat became a necessity.
And somehow, that beautiful golden tan wasn't quite as beautiful anymore.
To be honest, it made us a little sad. π₯
Swimming for hours without thinking twice was no longer the best idea.
Diving into the ocean all afternoon suddenly came with consequences.
It felt like the sun had gone from being our friend to something we had to be careful around.
πΏ But We Still Love The Sun
The funny thing is...
We still believe there's something healing about sunshine.
β
Maybe it's vitamin D.
β
Maybe it's simply being outside.
β
Maybe it's the way a warm summer day lifts our mood.
We don't think the answer is to hide from the sun.
We think it's to be a little wiser than we were as teenagers. π
β¨ Taking Care Of Ourselves Matters Too
One thing we've learned is that our lifestyle can help support our skin.
π₯ Eating foods rich in antioxidants.
𧴠Wearing sunscreen.
π Putting on a hat when we need one.
π Avoiding too much sun at the hottest part of the day.
We don't think these things take away the joy of summer.
They help us enjoy it for many years to come.
π One Thought To Leave You With
Growing older has taught us that we don't have to choose between enjoying life and taking care of ourselves.
β
We can love the sunshine.
β
Swim in the ocean.
β
Sit outside with a cup of coffee.
And still protect our skin.
Because maybe being an adult isn't about fearing the sun.
Maybe it's simply about respecting it. π
β
Do you have a favorite summer memory?
βπ Hit reply and tell us. We'd love to hear it!
β
Have a great week, Reader!
